Found in ocean waters or from the earth, salts are a great source of ions and trace minerals like potassium, calcium, sodium, iron. Salts are great for exfoliating, detoxifying, stimulating properties. Softens and enriches water to soothe the skin, muscles and mind. Multi-functional applications (polishes, salts and scrubs) depend on grain (or size) of salt. Delicate, fine salts and powders are suitable for facial polishes. Medium to course grains are ideal for body scrubs. Course grain to salt chunks are great for body and foot baths.
To use as a body polish or salt scrub, mix 2 teaspoons with an ounce of your favorite carrier oil (fractionated coconut, jojoba, sunflower are good options) and massage on dry, flaky skin in the direction of your heart. Take time to focus on torso, thighs, inguinal, armpit areas to increase lymph flow and stimulate the immune system. Rinse body. Be mindful of slippery surfaces when using carrier oils.
Use for a bath, foot soak or body polish. Add teaspoon to tablespoon, as needed, of Muscle Soak salt mix to bathwater along with 1-2 cups of your own epsom, sea or Himalayan salts. For a foot soak, add 1-2 teaspoons to a tub of hot water. Soak for 12-15 minutes. Optimize the treatment by taking a teaspoon of salt mix to bottom of feet and calloused heels, this will exfoliate the skin leaving them soft and smooth.
